Enjoy This Capybara

Good morning and happy first day of July!

Here’s Mandy, the friendliest Capybara in Villarrica, Paraguay, hanging out in the park and enjoying the sun on an otherwise chilly day.

Professor Capybara’s Chilly Chile Fact

Punta Arenas is the largest city below the the 46th parallel south. It has a population about 100,000 inhabitants and is located way down at the bottom of Chile.

But, it is not the southernmost city in the world.

That honor goes to Puerto Williams, also located in Chile, which has a population of about 3,000 inhabitants.

Puerto Williams is approximately 217 miles (350 kilometers) south of Punta Arenas. And because of its latitude, the median annual temperature in Puerto Williams fluctuates between a low of 49 °F (10 °C) and 35 °F (2 °C).

Pretty chilly weather!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
