While it may look like a Capybara would have trouble seeing things directly in front of it, capys actually have a strong field of vision. Their lateral eye placement grants them near-panoramic sight.
Or, put another way, they can still see people who are right in front of them, even though the capy’s eyes are on the side of its head!
