The One Place They Weren't Wanted

Forbidden Grass Is The Tastiest

Good morning and Capy Weekend!!!

Do you have a favorite nature spot? Somewhere you find incredibly beautiful?

For me, it’s Santa Catarina Island in Southern Brazil. It’s a beautiful place with mountains, lakes, sand dunes, cliffs, forests, jungles, beaches, and plenty of incredible animals.

There are marmosets, toucans, burrowing owls, and Capybaras!

The capys roam the entirety of Santa Catarina Island, so they’re more difficult to find than their peers in Curitiba or Sao Paulo.

But during my last trip, I randomly stumbled on a huge herd of Capybaras.

Where were they?

Exactly where they weren’t supposed to be, in the backyard of the one property fenced off to keep them out!

When it comes to Capybaras, fences are more of a suggestion than a rule.

Did You Know

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) listed Florianopolis (the main city on Santa Catarina Island) as one of ten “urban model cities of the future.”

Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend!
