The First Time I Ever Saw A Capybara...
Here's A Picture!
Hi Friend!
I hope you’re having a great day today.
While scrolling through old photos the other night, I stumbled on a picture from the very first time I ever saw a Capybara. And it’s this pic, right here, from 2021:

At the time, I visited Parque Barigui in Curitiba, Brazil because I wanted to see the municipal hydroelectric dam that’s located in the park - completely unaware of the Capybaras that lived there. It turned out to be one of those incredible “happy accidents” where you get more than you expected!

Professor Capybara’s Dam Fact
Did you know that the Itaipu Dam, located between Brazil and Paraguay, is the third largest hydroelectric dam in the world?
The dam provides about 90% of Paraguay’s electricity needs and 15% of Brazil’s.
You can also visit the dam (it’s located just outside of Foz do Iguacu, Brazil), and there are a lot of Capybaras on the property and at the nearby “Itaipu Biological Refuge.”
