Relaxing On A Sunday

Big Capy Enjoying The Sunshine

There are many great things about Brazil, but the time zone isn’t one of them.

Brasilia time is about two hours ahead of New York, meaning it’s 10 AM in São Paulo when it’s only 8 AM on the East Coast. It’s tough to adjust, but once you do, you can get a big head start on your day.

Insider secret: I sometimes go film or photograph capys early on Saturday or Sunday morning so I have all my pictures and videos ready for the upcoming week.

Here’s a big Capybara sunning itself in the brisk São Paulo morning air.

Random Woodpecker Sighting

Was Woody Woodpecker popular where you grew up?

I’m more of a classic Looney Tunes guy myself, but Woody Woodpecker (known locally as Pica-Pau) is huge in Brazil. While walking through the park earlier, I spotted this woodpecker.

Or, more accurately, this woodpecker startled me. I hadn’t noticed it until it started tapping away at the tree above my head!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
