Night At The Capy Park

And A Robinson Crusoe Fact!

Sponsored by

I’ve always thought it would be fun to camp overnight with the Capybaras. And, in a “Monkey's Paw” type situation, I almost got my wish.

Yesterday afternoon, I went to film capys here in Sao Paulo. I got some really cool pictures and video of Capybaras grazing and wading through water as the sun set.

But, I ended up staying a little too late.

Because when I went to leave, the park gates were closed and locked up.

Fortunately, I didn’t have to play real-life Minecraft and forage for a shelter before nightfall. There was still someone from the park nearby and they unlocked the gate, which was really nice!

Did You Know…

Robinson Crusoe had a huge cultural impact that is still felt to this day. This book that was originally published in 1719 influenced everything from The Swiss Family Robinson to The Martian, to Minecraft.

However, did you know that Robinson Crusoe was based on a real person?

Alexander Selkirk was a privateer and Royal Navy officer who spent four years stranded on Más a Tierra, an uninhabited island west of Chile!
