Have A Phenomenal Friday!

And Enjoy "Mandy The Mandioca Bara"

In partnership with

Hi there!

I hope you’re having a wonderful morning. And you might like these pictures of "Mandy The Mandioca Bara," a Capybara who lives in small town Paraguay.

This small park only has two Capybaras. And one of them spends almost all of its time hanging out in a marshy area that’s inaccessible to humans.

Mandy isn’t particularly friendly. Or at least doesn’t let people pet her. But, since it is winter in Paraguay and the local grasses aren’t growing much, Mandy is partial to enjoying a healthy snack. Her favorite food being mandioca, which is otherwise known as cassava.

Here’s Mandy eating some mandioca root.

If you’ve ever fed a horse an apple, feeding a Capybara is kind of similar…

Horses use their lips to grab food and manipulate it into a position where they can better chew it. And Capybaras do the same thing when they’re eating fruits or vegetables!

Professor Capybara’s Cassava Facts

Did you know that cassava is the third-largest food source for carbohydrates in tropical environments, only behind rice and corn. And, more than 500 million people eat cassava regularly.

Cassava, or mandioca as it’s called in Paraguay, is originally native to South America. But, cassava is also grown and consumed in Africa and Asia.

Additionally, cassava is used around the world as an animal feed!

Take the bite out of rising vet costs with pet insurance

Veterinarians across the country have reported pressure from corporate managers to prioritize profit. This incentivized higher patient turnover, increased testing, and upselling services. Pet insurance could help you offset some of these rising costs, with some providing up to 90% reimbursement.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
