Capys Fresh From A River Swim

Something about these Capybaras makes them look like they’ve just been through a grueling ordeal. Which is halfway true.

While not particularly grueling, these capys did swim the Barigui River, climb a steep embankment, and navigate their way through the forest. They’ve definitely earned an afternoon nap!

Did You Know…

The name “Barigui River” is said to derive from the Tupi-Guarani indigenous language and mean “river of the thorny fruit.” Another theory suggests it came from the Tupi-Guarani word mbarigui, which refers to a type of small mosquito.
