Today’s newsletter may have been about summertime Capybaras. But dogs are more commonly associated with this warm weather season.

The expression “Dogs days of summer” is an idiom used when it gets exceptionally hot outside. And this phrase actually dates back to the days of the Roman Empire, when the Romans believed that the star Sirius (also known as "The Dog Star") gave off extra heat that contributed to scorching hot afternoons in July and August.
