Capybara Jail!!!

And An Interesting Octopus Fact, Too

In partnership with

A year ago, I visited Florianopolis, Brazil and could not find any wild Capybaras to record. On the second to last day of the trip, I sighted a huge herd of capys. Where were they? Grazing the backyard of the only house on the block that had constructed an elaborate fence to keep wildlife out.

I bring this up, because the local park has a small fenced off section. And Mandy decided to enter the area, curious to see what’s inside.

Here’s Mandy through the chain link fence…

It kind of looks like she’s in Capybara jail. Undoubtedly for the crime of stealing our hearts!

Did You Know…

Octopuses have three hearts.

Two of the hearts are “peripheral” and pump blood through the octopus's gills so it can be oxygenated. Then, the third heart circulates the oxygenated blood throughout the octopus's body.
