Capy Weekend!!!
Enjoy The Most Brazilian Picture Ever!
This month is Festa Junina in Brazil. The Brazilian equivalent to Midsummer. People dress up as farmers, there’s dancing, and many towns and cities host various games and activities.
The celebration culminates in Festas de Sao Joao ("Saint John's Day").
The photo below may actually be the most Brazilian picture anyone has ever taken.
I was in the park enjoying a delicious Guarana Jesus soda with a Festa Junina themed can design when a large Capybara decided to walk out of the woods and start grazing near the municipal soccer field.

Speaking of soda…
No idea if people collect them, but Brazilian soda companies make lots and lots of limited edition can designs. A few years ago, Guarana Antarctica released this limited edition can with Capybaras on it!

Professor Capybara’s Festa Junina Fact
Festa Junina is the second largest celebration in Brazil. Carnival is the only festivity that’s bigger. And while Festa Junina isn’t as bombastic as Carnival, the activities and events last all month and sometimes even run into early July!
Thank YOU for reading and have a great day!

P.S. No Capybaras in it, but I’m sending out a special email this afternoon about a really cool town in Argentina. If you like nature, you won’t want to miss this exclusive travel report!
