Capy New Year!
May Your 2026 Be The Best Year Yet
Have you ever watched Citizen Kane?
There’s a scene where a character wishes Charles Foster Kane a “Merry Christmas and…,” and when the film jumps forward several years, we hear the sentence completed: “a happy New Year.”
It’s a scene I think about every New Year’s Eve.
Speaking of the New Year, here’s a huge herd of Capybaras optimistically grazing their way into the future!

Did You Know…
Penn Jillette once said, “Two things have always been true about human beings. One, the world is always getting better. Two, the people living at that time think it’s getting worse.”
With that in mind, here are five revolutionary inventions from the past 100 years:
Antibiotics (early 1940s and onwards) — Turned many fatal infections into routine treatments. Arguably the biggest life-saver of the 20th century.
The Integrated Circuit / Microchip (1958) — Made it possible to place millions, and later billions, of transistors on a single chip. This is why calculators and digital watches now outperform NASA’s earliest computers.
Air Conditioning (widespread after 1930s) — Made sustained living in hot climates practical and enabled the growth of modern cities across Florida, South America, and much of Asia.
Refrigerated & Frozen Foods (1930s–1950s) — Extended food shelf life and transformed global logistics. Eating an orange or banana in winter went from an unheard-of luxury to an everyday expectation for billions.
The Computer (1940s–1950s) — Reshaped science, business, and entertainment. You’re currently using one to read this.
Thank you for reading, and not just this email but all of them. I appreciate it a lot and would like to say Thank You. Hopefully you have a fun and safe evening, and see you next year!
