5 Good Things About 5 Latin American Countries

Some of the views in Patagonia are absolutely phenomenal

After traveling through several countries in South and Central America, I put together a short list of five favorites (sorted alphabetically) along with some of their best qualities:

  1. Argentina: Excellent food, Patagonia, breathtaking nature, and beautiful architecture.

  2. Brazil: Capybaras, toucans, beaches, and plenty of cool, interesting cities.

  3. Mexico: Great food, fantastic coffee, vibrant cities, a wide range of ecosystems and climates, and beautiful beaches.

  4. Paraguay: Capybaras and inexpensive restaurants that are surprisingly good.

  5. Peru: Outstanding food, fascinating natural landscapes, Inca Kola, chicha morada, and the Miraflores coastline.

Explore Peru with purpose

See Peru through the eyes of the women who call it home on Intrepid’s brand-new Women’s Expedition.

With an expert local leader out front and a small group of like-minded travellers by your side, this trip gives you a unique insight into Peru’s culture and traditions.

Part of Intrepid’s Women’s expedition range, this eight-day adventure has been thoughtfully designed to support local women in tourism while delivering immersive experiences specifically for women travellers.

You’ll traverse the lesser-known Chinchero to Urquillos trail in the Peruvian Andes alongside an all-female crew, spend time in an Andean village learning about daily life, take part in a traditional textile workshop led by local women and experience a spiritual cleansing ritual guided by a female shaman.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
