The Society of the Cincinnati is America’s oldest patriotic organization. And, membership is hereditary - mostly restricted to descendants of military officers who served in the Continental Army. Many early U.S. Presidents, as well as French King Louis XVI and French aristocrat Marquis de La Fayette, were members.
