Best Places To See Capybaras In Sao Paulo
Also, A Birthday Fact!
There are many parks in Sao Paulo which have Capybaras in them. However, seeing capys is pretty hit or miss in several of these locations.
For example, both “Sao Paulo Botanical Garden” and “Parque Ecologico do Tiete” are absolutely incredible. And I would highly recommend Parque Ecologico do Tiete to any animal lover simply due to the abundance of coatis and capuchin monkeys. That said, I’ve never seen a capy at either of these parks.
Other parks, like “Horto Florestal de Sao Paulo” have Capybaras, but it’s sometimes difficult to get close to these gentle grazers since the capys are often hanging out in a valley area that’s inaccessible to humans.
Most CapyTube content from Sao Paulo is shot in “Parque Cidade de Toronto.”
This park is easily accessible from downtown, or many other neighborhoods, and you can get up close to the Capybaras.
How close?
Depending on the capy, sometimes within a foot or two.
There’s also a bridge across the park’s main lagoon area. And from this bridge, you can see Capybaras, waterfowl, and all kinds of aquatic animals.
Here’s a picture I snaped from the park last Thursday…
