"Mean" Bird Was Actually Thirsty!
Have you ever struggled to read a difficult book?
The Last Man Who Knew Everything by W. Andrew Robinson is an engaging biography of Thomas Young, a polymath who made significant contributions to vision, light, energy, language, music, and Egyptology.

I’m about 20 IQ points short of fully enjoying this one, so I took the book to the park for some distraction-free reading while I looked for Capybaras.

Ten minutes into my reading, a bird showed up and started heckling me.

It even pecked at my finger!

It turns out the bird wasn’t being mean, it was trying to communicate with me. It wanted to catch my attention and show me that it was thirsty. Then it flew to a nearby tap so I could turn on the faucet and give it fresh, cold water.

As for the Capybaras, they were doing what they do best: relaxing.
The capys stuck together, wallowing in the muddy marshland to keep cool on a hot summer day.
