A Special Bonus Post Just For YOU!!!
Special bonus post, here are five different wild monkeys I’ve seen in Brazil.
Hopefully you enjoy!

Monkey on the monkey bars!!!
A lot of wild animals in Brazil live near or in parks, including these capuchin monkeys who hang out near a playground in the afternoon because children (and their parents) bring them treats!

Sometimes, walking through the woods in Brazil feels a little… creepy. You get the sensation that you’re being watched. Or that something is following you.
And it usually turns out your instincts were correct!
Marmoset monkeys will often follow at a distance, watching from the trees as you hike through their woods.

Another capuchin monkey, this one enjoying a handful of delicious (and nutritious) green beans!
I actually saw these monkeys foraging for wild green beans earlier in the week, and decided to surprise them with two giant bags of beans - which they really loved!

Do you like PayDay bars?
If you’re unfamiliar with this candy, they’re salted peanuts held together by caramel.
Brazil has a lot of different peanut caramel bars. It’s a popular candy here. I happened to be eating one in the park once, and some marmosets decided to help me finish my snack.

Here’s a marmoset mom with two babies on her back!

Professor Capybara’s Monkey Fact
Did you know that New World monkeys (found in Mexico, Central, and South America) are the only varieties of monkeys with prehensile tails?
Prehensile means “capable of grasping.”
And only New World monkeys are able to use their tail to swing from trees or grab onto branches. Pretty interesting!
